How the seal is used

Certified agencies and studios show the seal on their website, linked to their public record. That link is what makes it trustworthy.

Website code

Each certified business gets its own seal ID. This sample shows the format.

The rules

  1. Always link it. The seal must link to your record at aboveboardstandard.com/verify.
  2. Show your ID next to the seal wherever a link isn't possible, such as in a PDF.
  3. Only while it's valid. Remove it within 7 days of expiry or revocation.
  4. Only for the company audited. Sister brands and resellers need their own audit.
  5. Don't change it. No recoloring, cropping or combining it with other marks.
  6. No rankings. Above Board doesn't rank anyone, so don't claim to be "top rated" by us.

Spotting a fake

  • It doesn't link to aboveboardstandard.com.
  • It has no ID, or the ID shows "No record".
  • The record names a different company, or shows the seal revoked or expired.
